The crystal orb itself - crafted in the 1950's- was placed upon a scholar’s wooden stand, hand-carved in the old manner of Suzhou artisans: no nails, no glue, only the geometry of balance. It was said to embody the philosophy of Li (cosmic order) and Qi (living breath).

Albina recounts that in a secret twilight gathering - held under paper lanterns and guarded silence - seven high scholars from both East and West performed the veiled Latin invocation “C Oculis Veneficae” — The Hundred Witches’ Eyes.
